For one reason or another you have all ended up here, employed by me: Ian Fletcher. Now, I picked you because you all had something that seemed valuable, but that doesn’t mean that you’re in yet. I have a job for the lot of you and if you can manage to not screw it up then you’ll find yourselves comfortably employed by our growing adventuring guild, The Upper Hand.
Some things to know; while under our employment I expect you to not piss off the locals. We have a pretty respectable business here and since you are now representing us you need to stay out of trouble. I’m not saying that you need to be model citizens, and gods know that you’ll likely need to bend a law or two out there, but for Torag’s sake don’t get caught doing it. We will not pull your ass out of the fire should you find yourself on the wrong side of the law.
With that out of the way, I’ll let you know why you’d want to work for us. As you can see we are renovating this inn to suit out needs. This will be out base of operations in this city. So long as you are in the city you will have a room to stay in and regular meals. Many jobs though will take you away from town and costs for travel are not covered. Though your compensation will be generous. Also, while here you can take advantage of the alchemist we employ and the healer. the healer will fix you up free of charge, so long as he doesn’t need any special spell components to do his magic. The alchemist will craft anything he is capable of making, provided you supply him with the raw materials.
As soon as we are able we will be hiring a brewmaster to help liven this place up a bit. As well as someone to do the house cleaning and maybe another person or two to help keep this place running. Since me and my team may also be out adventuring, you can always report to Master Gil. He will handle the bookkeeping and will know of what jobs there need doing.
Your first task is simple: The local herbalist Jenna is having trouble with giant bees. She needs people to help get rid of the beasts. This seems like something you are capable of. Since you’re not quite hired yet, consider this your interview. Fix her problem and you’re hired. If you can’t, don’t come back.
Oh, and by the way, if while investigating this problem you should run into the hive of the bees, try to bring back their honey. I will pay well for giant bee honey. I’m sure our new brewmaster could make a fine mead out of it.
Oh, and another thing. The alchemist Reshoon wanted you to bring back some bees, you may want to talk to him about it. I think he is willing to pay for them, ask him for the details.
